Start Practicing Yoga and Conquer your Fear of Inflexibility
Yoga plays an essential part in the everyday lives of many people around the world. Whether you’re a veteran yogi or new to the practice society has become absolutely addicted to this form of moving meditation. The benefits of yoga, for both the physical body and the mind, are common knowledge, however, there are many people out there who are still finding excuses to avoid giving it a go because they they don’t think they can “do yoga”.
Regular practicing yogis are used to hearing all the excuses. “I’m too unfit at the moment, I can’t touch my toes, downward dog is not a resting pose for me, everyone will be better than me, I don’t like ‘slow’ exercise, I’m not flexible, I tried it once and didn’t like it”, the list goes on. Just like any sport, language or hobby everyone has to start somewhere, practicing yoga is no exception.

The difference is that in Yoga no one cares if you touch your toes or do a headstand, the point is to just get on your mat and give it a go. It’s a judgment free zone that’s the beauty of the practice, you create your own space on the mat and progress at your own pace to achieve your own goals, it’s all about you.
And, if you’re still worried about being looked at well you don’t have to go to a studio to reap the benefits of the practice. There are so many classes you can try via fitness apps or YouTube videos. While yoga isn’t for everyone, you won’t know if it’s for you unless you give it a try. As yoga teacher myself, who once upon time “didn’t like slow exercise” my educated guess is, you’l love it.
